Crime Log Update

The City and Police Department have established an internet purchase exchange location. The location is near the front entrance of the police department and is continually monitored and recorded by HD Video Security Cameras. Please refer to the attached Media Information Sheet for a statement of purpose and tips on staying safe when engaging in internet purchase transactions.

On 06-12-2017 at 8:07 PM a theft was reported in the 600 block of S. Elm Avenue. The victim said that someone had broken out the front passenger window of their vehicle between 6:00 and 7:50 PM and took a wallet that had been sitting on top of the center console.

On 06-14-2017 at 7:32 AM an Identity Theft was reported in the 800 block of Lanvale Drive. The victim reported that somebody had used their personal information to open an account through Kickstand Lending and had withdrawn over $1,700.00 prior to the fraud being discovered.

On 06-15-2017 at 9:00 AM a male subject was taken into custody for Trespassing in the 8200 block of Big Bend Blvd. He was previously served notice by Webster University to remain off of university property.

On 06-15-2017 at 3:48 PM an area resident reported that they had found graffiti in Larson Park two days prior. The graffiti was located on trees, concrete walls and rocks in the creek behind the tennis courts.

On 06-15-2017 at 4:26 PM a burglary was reported in the 900 block of Cornell Avenue. The victim reported that between 11:43 AM and 2:40 PM on June 14th, someone had entered the house through an unlocked front door and stolen a Playstation 4 video game console, controllers and 8 video games.

On 06-18-2017 at 3:25 PM a shoplifting was reported in the 8600 block of Big Bend Blvd. when two black male subjects fled the store with several unpaid for items. They left the area in a white 2005 Dodge Stratus.

During the week of 06-12-2017 through 06-18-2017, the Police Department responded to 721 calls for service, 24 auto accidents, 5 alarms and 40 assists to the Fire Department.
